The Party Cats met and formed in Catsburg, North Carolina in 2005 and released their first album Kids Dance Party on MeowTown Records in 2006. The trio of cool cats includes Coda on the drums, guitarist Spike, and Mazzy on the bass. The band celebrates timeless classics with covers across all genres in English and Spanish, and boasts a catalog of Halloween music for your spooky dance party.
- As the drummer, Coda is the sonic and spiritual foundation of The Party Cats. Defined by his backwards cap and constant tapping of drumsticks on any nearby surface, Coda is the calm, cool, collected (and often the goofiest) cat. His consistency and drive for a steady beat is part of what keeps the group together!
- Often playing the middle ground in times of conflict, Coda loves everyone around him and puts the good of the band before everything else! The only time you’ll see him getting amped-up is when he’s behind his kit, or playing one of his classic pranks on Mazzy… occasionally helped by Spike (when he’s not too busy combing his fur or checking out the mirror)
- You’ll never find him without his secret stash of snacks and catnip… if he isn’t drumming or snacking, he’s down for a quick nap!
“Time for a cat nap!”
- Coda was raised in a litter run by a strict momma-cat. As such, he can’t stand being told what to do and is extremely loyal to his two friends. His two passions are the drums and his friends, but if he had to choose, he wouldn’t hesitate to choose Mazzy and Spike above all else.
- Mazzy is the bold yet enigmatic bass player for the world renowned music group, The Party Cats. The primary songwriter behind the Cats, she spends her time meditating, reading, writing, and hanging out with her two best friends, Coda and Spike.
- While Mazzy is more reserved than her bandmates, she loves performing and seeing their vision come to life. When the band perfectly syncs up just the way she envisioned the songs, she gives the boys an excited “Sounds Puuuurrrrrfect!!”
- She may be the quiet one, but she’ll zing Coda and Spike with a witty one-liner when trading jokes. And when Coda tries to pull one of his infamous pranks, rest assured she’ll outmaneuver him…at least most of the time.
- Her favorite accessory? Her star-shaped sunglasses, of course!
Spike is the electrifying lead singer and guitar player of The Party Cats—and he knows it. Confident, quick-witted, and always dressed like he just stepped off the cover of Cool Cats Monthly, Spike lives for the spotlight. If there’s a stage nearby, he’s already on it.
Armed with his signature guitar and unstoppable charm, Spike kicks off every show with, “Look What the Cat Dragged In!” and seals the deal with a grin and, “Check Meowt.” He’s got the riffs to blow your furr back, the designer glasses, the moves, and just enough swagger to keep things interesting.
Sure, he loves a good mirror (who doesn’t appreciate greatness?), but what he really loves is performing with his bandmates, Mazzy and Coda. When the three of them hit the stage, sparks fly and the music roars to life.
Funny (he never heard a joke he didn’t love) , fearless, and just a little dramatic, Spike doesn’t just play music—he owns it .
Total rock star. Total showman. Total cool cat that’s shine!
